List of 2020 divisions

Welcome to our list of divisions for the 2020-21 season. Please note that these are subject to prior sale and are limited to the quantities listed. One division per plant per customer, please. Note that names such as '1643 A' are not true clonal names, but merely internal reference numbers, and can be changed after consulting us. We prefer that these plants be picked up at the nursery or at a show (when they resume); established plants in one-gallon pots or smaller may be shipped if not in spike. Prices are listed for plants not in spike; we reserve the right to adjust for plants in spike, especially in case of multiple spikes. Please send in all orders directly via email to casa@orquideas.com so we have an exact time in case of multiple requests for the same plant. Last updated 4/9/2021, 4:00 PM.

Photographs are provided when available. Thanks to Arthur Pinkers for providing many of the pictures.

Barbara Uno 'Wow' is the best from a sib cross of two of our original Barbara Uno cross. White sepal peloric with a stunning red lip. Blooms in March. 4N. 2Gallon - $60, Gallon(2) - $50
Barbary Coast '1626 A' is from a cross of (Dorothy Rowe x Vogelsang). Lots of intense dark pink novelty flowers on long arching spikes. Blooms in March. 4N. Gallon(2) - $20
Bill Weaver (Mighty Mouse x Cleo's Melody) '1768C' is from a cross we made to get a better color range in the sepal peloric cymbidiums. This one has a mostly pink color with a splotchy patterned lip. 6"(2) - $35
Cym. Cleo's Melody 'Freak-Out' AD/CSA is a most unusual 3.5 inch ivory white sepal peloric flower with the pattern and shape of half a lip reproduced on the lower half of the lateral sepals. About half of the offspring exhibit the same peloric markings in the lateral sepals for at least three generations so the mutation appears to be a genetically dominant trait. This is the ancestor of most of the sepal peloric cymbidiums you will see. 6" - $50
Dotz '#2' is another of our trademark spotted cymbidiums. It is a pink with many darker red spots and a solid red lip. Novelty diploid for March. Compact grower. 6" - $35
Dotz '#5' is another of our trademark spotted cymbidiums. It has a light olive to bronze base color with red spots and a solid red lip and is possibly the best grower out of the Dotz cross. Novelty diploid for March. Gallon(2) - $40, 6"(2) - $40
Double Passion '1686A' is another large full-flowered light pink. 2Gallon - $25
Dutch Kiwi 'Coral Crisp' is a good sized clear light pink standard for midseason. Gallon - $25
Easter Candy 'Bunny' is a sepal peloric cymbidium with distinctive pastel pink markings on the lip and lateral sepals. 6" - $50
Emerald Shamrock 'Daffodil' is the best we've seen from our recent cross of (Lemon Butter x Emerald Moon). Large round yellow flowers for midseason. 6" - $25
Enchanted Bob '1770D' is from our remake of the Enchanted Bob cross. The original was so good we had to do it again! Red spotting over a pink background, more pink than most in the cross. Part of the group that earned the Schaefer Trophy for Best Group of 5 First Blooming Seedlings at the 2017 Santa Barbara show. Gallon - $30
Enchanted Bob 'Portia' is an open standard pink with some dark red spotting, primarily along the midribs. From our original cross of (Enchanted Beach x Bob Marlin). Sorry about the blurry picture! 6" - $35
Enchanted Bob 'Waterfall' is one of several nice plants of our spotted cross of (Enchanted Beach x Bob Marlin 'Shocking'). The clonal name comes from its arching spike with a good amount of large spotted flowers on a light pink background. Gallon(2) - $35
Cym. Enchanted Profile '#1' is a clean white flower with dark pink lines in the sepals and petals. Up to 15 flowers are nicely arranged on medium spikes. This has produced some striped flowers in the offspring. Not quite as striking as the pictured cultivar 'Stars and Stripes' but still nice. Gallon - $30
Featherhill Fanfare 'Solana Freckles' is a classic spotted white cymbidium. Has been a good breeder in the past. 2Gallon - $35
Freak Out '#1A' is another of our sepal peloric hybrids. It has a pink base color with red patterning on the lip and lateral sepals. Easy growing and fairly free blooming. Tetraploid for midseason. Gallon(2) - $40, 2Gallon(4) - $50
Freak Out 'Wow' is probably the best from this cross of our sepal peloric hybrids. It has a light pink base color with red spotting and a strong yellow central stripe on the lip and lateral sepals. Very easy growing, shoukd make a good specimen plant. Tetraploid for midseason. 3Gallon - $70, 2Gallon(3) - $60, Gallon(7) - $50, 6"(7)- $45

Cym. Gentle Touch 'Bon Bon' is an oldie but goodie. Very reliable and very productive clear green novelty for February and March. It was the Reserve Champion Cymbidium in the 2008 Santa Barbara Show. From a meristem. 6" - $25
Glitter Gulch 'Goldie' is a bright pure color yellow that should flower for the spring shows. One of our regular customers with an excellent eye for quality made sure to get the most recent piece! 5" - $25
Greek Goddess '1540C' is a very good growing plant from our spectacular Greek Goddess cross. More of a solid pink with a dark burgundy banded lip compared to many of the more patterned Greek Goddesses. Midseason tetraploid standard. Gallon - $25
Greek Goddess '1540D' is a very good growing plant from our spectacular Greek Goddess cross. I think that it's more of a solid pink compared to many of the more patterned Greek Goddesses. Midseason tetraploid standard. Very vigorous grower; should easily make a good specimen plant. 2Gallon - $30, Gallon - $25
Greek Goddess 'Blushing' is an interesting flower from our spectacular Greek Goddess cross. In addition to the typical pink patterning over a white background, it is named for the distinctive pink flush on either side lobe of the lip. Midseason tetraploid standard; long-lasting flowers. Gallon - $35
Greek Goddess 'Pink Lady' is another good plant from our spectacular Greek Goddess cross. While most have some degree of pink patterning over a white base, 'Pink Lady' is a nearly solid bright pink. Very eye-catching when we've had it at shows! Midseason tetraploid standard. 6" - $35, Gallon(3) - $35
Hawaiian Host 'Cookie' is another plant from our sepal-peloric breeding program. Primarily a white flower; the lip has a mostly dark red spotted lip with some pink blushing on the side lobes. 2Gallon - $60
Hazel Dawn 'Pinkie' is a surprise pink out of what we expected to be an orange cross of (Hazel Fay x Wallacia). It has the patterning from Wallacia, but somehow lost any yellow coloring! 2Gallon - $40
Lotza Spotz 'Erika' is another plant from our spotted breeding program. Light pink background, with a touch of yellow in the sepals, heavy red spotting, and a solid velvety red lip. Fairly compact grower. February blooming diploid. 5" - $30
lowianum concolor is the alba version of this famous species. LOTS of flowers on 4-foot or longer spikes that will crawl along the bench if left unattended. Good growing plant; flowers in April. 6" - $35
Marie Bashir '1671 C' is one of the first to flower from a sib cross of 'Flash' and 'Shocking', and has a solid bright yellow background with a brushed brownish-red pattern. Too early to tell whether it will be as floriferous as its parents, but the potential is there. Tetraploid. Good grower. Gallon - $40
Pepper's Fire '1764A' is from a selfing we did from the famous petal peloric Pepper's Fire 'Fiesta'. These flowers also are peloric, with narrower segments than 'Fiesta'. Compact grower. 5" - $80, 6" - $100
Pepper's Fire 'Carousel' is from a selfing we did from the famous petal peloric Pepper's Fire 'Fiesta'. These flowers also are peloric, with rounder segments than 'Fiesta'. Compact grower. Formerly listed as '1747a'; we decided to give it a true clonal name. 5" - $80, 6" - $100
Pepper's Fire 'Fiesta' HCC/AOS AD/CSA is a charming little petal peloric red novelty flower. It can have up to 10 2.5 inch flowers on an upright spike. It can hold a pod and be a pollen parent, and produces good seedlings, although it may be difficult to set a pod. The peloric charactistic will breed on in limited percentages when used with other petal peloric plants. Probably a diploid. Compact grower. 6" - $60
Pepper's Fire 'Gala' is an unusual meristem mutation from Pepper's Fire 'Fiesta'. The usual peloric petals have flaring at the ends! Nearly identical to Pepper's Fire 'Carnival'. Fairly compact grower, but is usually a bit of a larger plant than 'Fiesta'. 6" - $60, Gallon - $60
Cym. Pepperpuss 'Falling Star' 4N is an oryzalin-converted version of the original yellow-green base colored flower (pictured) with a light red overlay and a good amount of red spotting on the sepals and petals with a dark burgundy red pattened lip. It will have 15-20 3.5 inch flowers on 3 foot long pendant spikes, blooming in late March to April. The flowers are very long lived, and can last more than 4 months. Gallon(2) - $50
Cym. Pepperpuss 'Freckleface' is a light pink flower well spotted with burgundy on the sepals and petals and a deep burgundy spotted lip. It will have up to 15 well spaced 3.5 inch flowers on 3 foot long very pendant spikes, often with multiple spikes blooming in late March to April. Always a favorite! Diploid. 6" - $70

Queasy '#1' is an early blooming fragrant light red. We have used it a couple of times lately to try to get more fragrant seedlings. Fairly compact plant. Blooms in Nov.-Dec. 6" - $25
Rocky Creek 'Dots' is another nicely spotted flower with good shape. It's a light pink base color, with most of the spots on the petals. Probably triploid. Gallon - $40

Cym. Solana Beach 'St. Francis' 2N B/CSA is the diploid form of a famous blush white round tetraploid parent of many highly awarded crosses. Can also breed spots. Blooms in February to March. 2Gallon - $35
Splatters '1647A' is from a sib cross we did from two of the best of our original Splatters cross. Flowers have a light olive colored background with burgundy spotting. Oryzalin treated as a seedling so it may be a tetraploid. Gallon - $35, 6" - $35
Cym. Splatters 'Flamenco' HCC-AD/AOS AD/CSA is a free blooming creamy pink 4" flower covered with burgundy spots and a dark burgundy red banded lip and up to 20 flowers on a long arching spike. Cym. Via del Playa 'Pinkie' B/CSA is a nice clear pink round 4 inch flower with up to 14 flowers on a 3 foot spike and often has 2 spikes on a bulb. We haven't used this much due to the relatively small flower size, but the hybrids with this as a parent have been nice clear round pinks. Tetraploid. 5" - $20
Wichita 'Princess' is a very unusual petal peloric pink. Loren would refer to this as a "cattlidium" because the ruffled petals were similar looking to those of a cattleya. Can be difficult to grow and bloom although this piece is doing nicely. 6"(2) - $200
(Dorothy Rowe x Valley Splash) '1790A' is a medium-sized standard light pink. Gallon(4) - $25
(Helen Tangcay x Phil Cass) '1944A' is a light pink standard with a darker pink blush. Gallon - $25

(Piņata x Pywacket) 'Hornet' is an interesting new spotted hybrid. Brownish-red spotting over a dark yellow to light bronze background. Not much shape due to the tracyanum influence. Gallon - $40
